Anaïs Hausmann Champions Governance Simplification Ahead of French Senatorial Elections

Anaïs Hausmann, a candidate in the upcoming senatorial elections for Vaucluse representing the Democratic and Independent Vaucluse party, has unveiled a political platform focused on simplifying governance to empower elected officials. She critiques the current system as excessively complex, leading politicians to spend too much time navigating bureaucratic red tape rather than executing impactful projects. Hausmann, also deputy mayor responsible for innovation with experience as an entrepreneur and local government consultant, advocates reforming public action through seven key pillars centered on simplification.

Key elements of her agenda include amending the SRU law and the ZAN law to protect agricultural land without penalizing rural municipalities, as well as guaranteeing straightforward access to public funding. She emphasizes adapting existing legislation rather than creating new complexities and stresses that territorial interests should prevail over traditional party politics in the Senate. Hausmann claims to have backing from 95 electors within the Avignon majority, though she remains aware of the challenge in convincing skeptical voters.

If elected, her proposals will be deliberated in thematic workshops. The senatorial election results are scheduled for announcement on September 27. This push for streamlined governance reflects a broader political movement seeking to optimize the effectiveness of public institutions.
