The report, based on surveys conducted by Kantar in June 2026 with 2,000 participants including 339 women who had abortions in the past five years and qualitative interviews with 11 women, highlights ongoing difficulties. These challenges include extended waiting times and refusals of care, as detailed in anonymous testimonies collected via the National Helpline from 2024 to 2025 and surveys of local associations.

Planning Familial underscores that societal taboos around abortion continue to complicate access, and the recent barometer shows that obstacles are more frequent than in 2024. In reaction to these persistent barriers, an association has called for the abolition of the conscience clause related to abortion, which allows some healthcare providers to refuse to perform abortions, arguing it contributes to the limited availability of services.

The study reflects a comprehensive effort to monitor changes in abortion access following the constitutional amendment, combining quantitative data with personal experiences. The ongoing difficulties reveal a gap between legal rights and practical accessibility, raising concerns about healthcare equity and women's reproductive rights in France.
