Camille Le Roux Takes Podium at 2026 French Elite Indoor Championships in Clermont-Ferrand

The 2026 Championnats de France Élites en Salle, held in Clermont-Ferrand and Aubière, showcased impressive performances from France's top indoor athletes. Notably, 19-year-old Camille Le Roux of Vineuil Sports Athlétisme claimed third place in the women's long jump event on March 1, achieving a best leap of 6.28 meters. Le Roux, still competing in the hopes category, finished behind Vanesse Lokuli, who won with 6.64 meters, and reigning champion Angelica Berriot, who jumped 6.40 meters.

Despite a challenging start with a fouled opening jump, Le Roux rebounded with consistent marks including 6.05 meters and 6.27 meters, and improved to 6.17 meters before securing her best jump of the day in the final phase. This podium finish follows her silver medal performance at last year's indoor championships in Miramas where she set a personal best of 6.29 meters.

The championships featured many of France’s elite talents, including athletes such as Marie-Julie Bonnin, Thibaut Collet, and Melvin Raffin, highlighting the depth and competitiveness of French indoor athletics. The event underscored developing stars alongside established competitors, contributing to a high-caliber national competition atmosphere.
