Cédrine Kerbaol Progresses in Tour de France, Eyeing Podium Finish

Cédrine Kerbaol, a 24-year-old cyclist representing EF Education-Oatly, is making significant strides in her third Tour de France, currently aiming for a podium finish. Following the fourth stage held on July 29, which stretched from Saumur to Poitiers and was won by Dutch sprinter Lorena Wiebes, Kerbaol secured a 15th place finish and now ranks 13th in the overall standings.

The stage saw an impressive average speed of 45 km/h over 130 kilometers, bolstered by a favorable tailwind. Despite facing a potential setback when a planned pit stop created a break in the peloton, Kerbaol was grateful for the support from her teammates, who helped her recover swiftly. "For now, the legs seem to be responding well, which is cool," she mentioned, reflecting her optimism for the forthcoming hilly stages of the competition.

As the tour advances, Kerbaol acknowledges growing challenges, particularly with the terrain becoming more arduous. To cope with the rigors of the race, she and her teammates focus on recovery after stages through proper nutrition, hydration, and massages, underlining the team’s strategy to enhance performance and strengthen their bond amidst the competition.
