Comprehensive Security Measures for Feria de Pentecôte 2026 in Nîmes

The Feria de Pentecôte 2026, scheduled from May 21 to May 25 in Nîmes, is set to implement extensive security arrangements to ensure public safety during this major event. Prefect Jérôme Bonet has issued stringent measures, including a ban on all protests and public gatherings from 8 AM on May 22 until 10 PM on May 25 within the event area.

To monitor the event closely, security forces are authorized to deploy drones, especially on May 23. The security presence will be robust, with nearly 500 police and gendarmes deployed daily, supplemented by 167 municipal police officers working around the clock. Additionally, 250 private security guards will assist in managing crowd control and safety.

A comprehensive security perimeter will be maintained, incorporating 140 anti-ram barriers and automatic bollards to prevent unauthorized vehicle entries. The municipal police will also enforce regulations in public venues regarding alcohol consumption and noise levels.

Prevention initiatives are a key element of the safety strategy, featuring an Espace Prévention equipped with breathalyzers and safety alerts, as well as an Espace Prévention Jeunesse dedicated to providing a secure space for young attendees. Medical support includes three first aid stations staffed by 120 Red Cross volunteers and coordination with emergency services to manage any incidents effectively.
