Delphine Ernotte to Sue Patrick Sébastien Over Sexist Song

Delphine Ernotte, president of France Télévisions, plans to file a legal complaint for sexist and sexual outrage against Patrick Sébastien following the release of his new song "Delphine" on April 24, 2026. The song contains explicit and vulgar lyrics targeting Ernotte, notably referencing her role in Sébastien's dismissal from France 2 in 2019, after his 23 years of service. The offensive content includes lines such as "Delphine, si t’avais connu ma p..., on aurait été si heureux!" which Ernotte finds unacceptable and sexist.

The conflict between the two media figures dates back to Sébastien's departure, which he has publicly attributed to Ernotte's efforts, stating during a parliamentary inquiry, "From the start, Madame Ernotte wanted me gone... I was fired." The song’s release reignited existing tensions, prompting Ernotte's decision to pursue legal action.

In addition to the lawsuit related to the song, Sébastien is also under investigation for a separate incident involving sexual exhibition during a concert at a naturist camp in Cap d'Agde, which could result in a prison sentence of up to two years and a €30,000 fine.
