Demi Vollering delivered a decisive and commanding performance on August 8, 2026, during the eighth stage of the Tour de France Femmes, capturing both the stage victory and the coveted yellow jersey with a powerful solo attack. The 171.9 km stage from Sisteron to Nice featured challenging climbs culminating in a steep ascent near the finish, where Vollering launched her winning move.

Vollering broke away less than ten kilometers from the finish on the Ginestière climb, making multiple attacks before pulling clear of top rivals including previous leader Katarzyna Niewiadoma and Elisa Longo Borghini.
