On June 23, 2025, the Écotable awards celebrated innovative sustainable dining initiatives across France with 11 awards recognizing efforts in responsible consumption within the food sector. This year, three new categories were introduced: Best Engaged Bakery-Pastry, Best Engaged School, and Best Engaged Hotel, adding to the depth of the awards which were first launched in 2024.

The Trophées Écotable aim to highlight the importance of sustainability in the restaurant industry and rely on a comprehensive audit system that evaluates over 150 criteria. The rigorous assessment process helps restaurants, schools, and hotels improve their sustainability practices, addressing critical issues such as food waste, sourcing food responsibly, and promoting plant-based options.

The awards ceremony took place on a péniche called Le Mazette, where industry professionals engaged in workshops focusing on the balance between profitability and sustainability in dining. Co-founders Fanny Giansetto, a food and environmental advocate, and Camille Delamar, an engineer specializing in restaurant audits, continue to lead the Écotable initiative with plans to publish a white paper summarizing the discussions and actionable measures towards evolving the sector.

Giansetto expressed the importance of democratizing ecological issues in dining, stating, "These awards not only commend those that are already making strides towards sustainability, but they also inspire the entire sector to adopt better practices."

As the environmental impacts of the food service industry come under increasing scrutiny, the Écotable awards are pivotal in driving positive change and promoting ethical standards throughout France's dining landscape.
