The 2026 Étoiles de l’économie awards have announced the three nominees for the ecological transition and low-carbon category, with the winner to be revealed on November 5 at Palais Beaumont.
The nominees showcase innovative contributions to France’s green economy. Caremag operates a cutting-edge recycling and refining facility in Lacq that processes 2,000 tons of magnets and 5,000 tons of rare earths annually, aiming to supply 15% of the global dysprosium and terbium market, critical materials for energy transition. Its president, Frédéric Carencotte, emphasized the importance of sovereignty in securing these resources.
Eauzons, a pioneer in aquaponics based in Lescar, invested €3 million to develop a sustainable system combining fish and vegetable production. Their farm can produce 100 tons of fish and 20 tons of vegetables per year, with 35% of energy needs met via solar power. Director Félix Haget highlighted the farm’s water reuse cycle as a model of sustainability.
Énergie d’ici, founded in 2016, unites 250 renewable energy plants across France to supply electricity through a short-circuit model focused on hydroelectricity, wind, solar, and biomass. Director Antoine Garcier noted their commitment to ensuring renewable asset sustainability, with the firm achieving a turnover of €100 million.
This group reflects France’s advancing ecological transition, highlighted by innovations in recycling, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy supply models, supporting the country’s low-carbon economy ambitions.
