France Marks 10th Anniversary of November 13, 2015 Terror Attacks with Nationwide Commemorations

On November 13, 2025, France solemnly marked the 10th anniversary of the devastating terrorist attacks carried out in Paris and Saint-Denis in 2015. The coordinated Islamist attacks resulted in 130 deaths, including two suicides, and over 350 injuries across multiple locations such as the Bataclan, Rue Bichat, and the Stade de France. President Emmanuel Macron led nationwide remembrance ceremonies, emphasizing that "the pain remains" a decade later.

The commemorations began at 11:30 AM at the Stade de France where the first victim, Manuel Dias, was honored. His daughter, Sophie Dias, delivered an emotional tribute amid officials and family members. President Macron visited key attack sites throughout Paris, including Le Carillon, Le Petit Cambodge, La Bonne Bière, and Casa Nostra, where moments of silence were observed, flowers were laid, and names of victims were read aloud. At Le Carillon and Le Petit Cambodge, 39 victims’ names were recited as part of the ceremonies, accompanied by flower depositions.

A significant event was held in the evening at the newly inaugurated Jardin du 13-Novembre in Paris. This ceremony featured a requiem composed by Victor Le Masne and drew numerous attendees, including elected officials and representatives from victim associations. The Elysee Palace reiterated its commitment to honor the memory of the victims, support their families, and continue the fight against terrorism. Former President François Hollande engaged with the public earlier in the day to share memories and reflections from that tragic night.
