France Raises Annual Medical Franchise Cap to 140 Euros Starting October 1, 2026

Starting October 1, 2026, the annual cap for medical franchises in France will increase from 100 to 140 euros, according to a decree published in the Journal officiel this past Saturday. This adjustment modifies the initial plan by the government to double the cap, reflecting a moderated position on the measure. Medical franchises represent fees that are not reimbursed by Assurance Maladie, the French health insurance system.
