France Santé Network Launches in Ardèche to Strengthen Local Healthcare Access

The French government has officially launched the France Santé network in the Ardèche region, certifying 15 local health centers as "Maisons France santé" to bolster access to primary healthcare services. This initiative aims to enhance proximity healthcare availability and is part of a broader program expected to certify over 180 health houses across Ardèche by the end of 2025, with further certifications anticipated in 2026.

The bodies certified must meet strict criteria including employing a general practitioner with an established patient roster, accessible nursing staff, and offering services at least five days a week without charging additional fees. Each center must also ensure timely access for urgent health needs and facilitate patient referrals to nearby facilities. The network includes diverse structures such as multi-professional health houses, medical practices, and local hospitals.

This program, co-managed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the local Prefecture in collaboration with the Assurance Maladie, encourages interprofessional collaboration to provide comprehensive patient care. Dedicated funding is available for certified centers to support the development of the network. Recognized locations include centers in Annonay and Aubenas among others, strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region.
