French Women's Futsal Team to Play Historic Match in Brittany Amid Growing Sport Popularity

This event follows a successful roller hockey event held at the same venue in November 2024 and highlights the increasing prominence of women's futsal in France. Organized by the District of football des Côtes-d’Armor, all 777 tickets were snapped up within one hour, primarily by local club members from Lamballe FC and the Lionnes du Penthièvre, signaling strong regional support. Futsal is experiencing rapid growth nationally, with 49,000 registered players, including 6,000 women—a figure that represents a 20% increase just in the Côtes-d’Armor department. Although the French women's team is ranked 48th globally, they will face a strong Ukrainian side that is the European vice-champion.
