Historic First Amputee Football Championship to Kick Off at Marseille's OM Campus

The inaugural French championship for amputee football is set to take place on November 29 and 30, 2025, at the OM Campus in Marseille, marking a landmark moment for the sport in France. This pioneering tournament will feature three teams: Olympique de Marseille, Paris FC, and Lanfonnet. The event not only highlights the growing visibility of amputee football but also underlines its recent official recognition by the Fédération Française Handisport (FFH) earlier this year.

Cyril Ferdoël, a national technical advisor at the FFH, expressed hopes that the involvement of top Ligue 1 clubs will encourage more amateur and professional teams to join the sport. OM president Pablo Longoria conveyed pride in hosting the championship, emphasizing the commitment and honor of the teams representing their clubs.
