Meteorological reports confirm that the heatwave spares only the far northwest, high altitude regions over 1800 meters, and the Mediterranean coast. Thunderstorms accompanied by significant rainfall have appeared in Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine, but the overall trend remains dangerously hot.
