Julie Deliquet Appointed New Director of Paris's Théâtre National de la Colline

Julie Deliquet, currently directing Théâtre Gérard-Philipe (TGP) in Saint-Denis, has been appointed as the new director of the Théâtre national de la Colline in Paris. Her appointment ends months of speculation and comes as she succeeds Wajdi Mouawad, who stepped down a year earlier than planned on March 8. The selection process was competitive, with Deliquet chosen over Arthur Nauzyciel. Her term will last five years initially, with the possibility of two renewals, each extending three years.

Deliquet, 45, has been leading TGP since March 2020, where she notably succeeded in engaging a diverse audience despite its location on the outskirts of Paris. The decision was proposed by former Culture Minister Rachida Dati to the President of the Republic.
