Key Figures of Marseille's DZ Mafia Arrested in Algeria Amid Crackdown on Drug Trafficking

Authorities have intensified efforts against the DZ Mafia, a major criminal group involved in drug trafficking in Marseille, with recent arrests underscoring this crackdown. In July, Abdelatif Mehdi Laribi, known as 'Tic' and recognized as one of the founders of the DZ Mafia, was apprehended in Algeria. This was followed in early August by the arrest of Rachid Djeha, a reputed kingpin in the narcotrafic network operating out of Castellane, a neighborhood in Marseille. French Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin confirmed Djeha's arrest, highlighting the cooperative law enforcement actions between France and Algeria to dismantle the drug trafficking network.
