Lannemezan Gears Up for Tour de France Start on July 8 with Community Festivities and Tight Security

Lannemezan is entering the final phase of preparations to host the prestigious start of the Tour de France on July 8, 2026. The town’s municipal government, together with the Hautes-Pyrénées department and local partners, has coordinated extensive arrangements to ensure a memorable event.

A symbolic starting line was recently inaugurated in front of the town hall, marking the countdown to the big day. Mayor Laurent Lages expressed immense pride in welcoming the Tour, highlighting it as a unique opportunity for Lannemezan and its residents.

To guarantee smooth operations, a dedicated steering committee has been created, coordinating closely with local authorities, firefighters, the gendarmerie, and the race organizer ASO.
