Le Puy-en-Velay Clinches Historic French Women's National Futsal Championship

The women's futsal team of Lycée Charles et Adrien Dupuy from Le Puy-en-Velay made history on April 3, 2026, by winning the UNSS French national futsal championship — a first for the school. This victory underscores the success of their decade-long partnership with Puy Foot 43 club, which has played a pivotal role in player development and training quality.

The team showcased remarkable consistency, topping their group with wins over Guingamp (6-4), Meaux (4-2), and Angoulême (4-2). In the knockout stages, they drew 1-1 with Marmande but triumphed 4-3 in penalties in the quarterfinals, followed by a 2-0 semifinal victory over Guingamp. They decisively secured the national title by beating Gragnague 5-1 in the final.

Remarkably, nine out of the ten players on the roster hail from Puy Foot 43, reflecting the club's investment and success in nurturing talented female athletes. The women's sports section of the lycée currently enrolls 35 girls, recruited through competitive selection mainly from the Ponot, Monistrolien, and Stéphanois regions. This win follows three consecutive national qualifications, improving from ninth place in 2024, second in 2025, to champions in 2026.

The team's achievement marks not only a sports milestone but also highlights the growth and rising prominence of women's futsal in France, boosted by dedicated local clubs and schools.
