Legal developments have intensified in the case of the kidnapping of a 12-year-old girl named Lucie from Orne. An Amber Alert was issued on September 25, leading to the swift arrest of a 34-year-old man, identified as a friend of Lucie's father, on September 26. The man has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, unlawful detention, rape, and sexual assault against a minor under the age of 15, according to the public prosecutor’s office in Caen.

The prosecution, led by Joël Garrigue, confirmed that the suspect was apprehended in Montbert, Loire-Atlantique, just hours after the alert was activated. Following his custody, he has been placed in provisional detention as the investigation unfolds. Authorities noted that after Lucie was located, she was confirmed to be in good health, and the Amber Alert was lifted shortly thereafter.

Lucie had reportedly had a relationship with the suspect, which has prompted law enforcement to treat her as a victim throughout the investigation. Plans have been made for her debriefing before she can return to her parents, emphasizing the sensitivity and serious nature of the circumstances surrounding her abduction.

Joël Garrigue stated, "We are taking all necessary steps to ensure the victim is supported thoroughly during this challenging time." This incident has raised significant public concern regarding child safety in the region and has highlighted the ongoing issues of trust and safety within familial ties.

As the legal proceedings move forward, the suspect remains embattled with serious charges that could lead to substantial prison time if convicted. The case continues to develop, and further details will emerge as authorities progress with their investigation and court proceedings.
