Marie Barsacq Aims to Reestablish 'Sport Pass' for Youth by 2026

Marie Barsacq, the Minister of Sports, Youth, and Associative Life, is advocating for the reinstatement of the 'sport pass' aimed at children aged 6 to 13, with a target implementation date of 2026. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance youth participation in sports across France.

To complement this effort, a national sports day has been scheduled for September 14, drawing inspiration from the Fête de la Musique, to celebrate sports culture in the country. In addition, the French government has introduced a new investment plan committing 20 million euros by 2030, which aims to bolster resources and support for athletes. Barsacq emphasized the need for this support, particularly in light of the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, stating that "The first legacy is the performance of our athletes," which reflects the government's focus on developing sports infrastructures and fostering talent.
