Maxime Decomble Falls Short in U23 Time Trial Championship

In a tightly contested race for the under-23 time trial title at the French Championships, Maxime Decomble finished second, losing his title to Arthur Blaise on August 6, 2025. The championship took place in La Tour du Pin, Isère, where Decomble completed the 23.9 km course in a time just 3.89 seconds shy of the winning time of 28 minutes and 27 seconds achieved by Blaise of Décathlon-AG2R La Mondiale Development. Decomble fell behind at both intermediate checkpoints but managed to close the gap in the final stretch of the race.

Decomble’s performance showcased his determination as he heads into the under-23 road race scheduled for Saturday, eager to bounce back. Other local cyclists did not fare as well, with Adrien Boichis claiming 6th place, finishing 50 seconds after Blaise. Rémi Daumas placed 31st and Samuel Serres finished in 49th place, highlighting the competitive nature of the event and the range of results from regional athletes.
