Medef Pledges Support for Politicians with Economic Insight and Long-Term Vision

In a recent statement, Medef President Patrick Martin affirmed the organization’s commitment to backing political leaders who possess a deep understanding of economic challenges and who envision policy beyond 2027. Speaking on January 12, 2026, Martin criticized proposed budgetary measures that increase the tax burden on businesses, calling such policies "demagogic and economically perilous." He accused some political actors of pitting households against businesses, labeling them as "charlatans and sorcerers' apprentices."
