Mother Charged After Two Infants Found Frozen in Haute-Saône Freezer

On February 10, 2026, a shocking discovery was made in the village of Aillevillers-et-Lyaumont, Haute-Saône, when two infant bodies were found frozen in a domestic freezer by a relative during a cleanup. Following this, a 50-year-old woman, Sylvie D., was arrested and charged with the murder of minors. She is now in provisional detention as the investigation continues.

The mother's partner was initially detained but claimed ignorance of the pregnancies and has not been charged. The family was previously considered well-regarded in their community, with no known difficulties, according to local officials. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the circumstances of the infants' deaths.
