New Victim Support Center Opens in Porge to Aid Saumos Megafire Survivors

On August 3, 2026, a dedicated France Services Victims center officially opened in Porge to offer comprehensive support to individuals affected by the recent Saumos megafire. Initiated by Sophie Brocas, the prefect of Gironde and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the center is set up within the local school and will operate daily from 9 AM to 6 PM.
