OL Lyonnes Crush Strasbourg 6-0 to Secure Coupe de France Final Spot Against PSG

In a commanding display at the Coupe de France semi-finals, Olympique Lyonnais women’s team overwhelmed Strasbourg with a resounding 6-0 victory, securing their place in the final against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on May 10 in Valenciennes.

The match exploded into life within the first five minutes, as Sofie Svava netted the opener in the 3rd minute exploiting Strasbourg’s defensive lapse, swiftly followed by Marie-Antoinette Katoto’s goal in the 5th minute off a setup from Kadidiatou Diani. Lyon maintained relentless pressure, and captain Wendie Renard converted a penalty in the 30th minute after Ada Hegerberg was fouled, further extending their lead.

Hegerberg herself added a fourth goal in the 34th minute. Before halftime, Katoto scored her second from a penalty kick, making it 5-0. Despite some resistance from Strasbourg, Korbin Shrader sealed the emphatic victory with a sixth goal in the 74th minute.

This dominant performance marks Lyon's fifteenth Coupe de France final appearance, having won the trophy ten times before, most recently in 2023. The team aims to add to their silverware haul this season, already having secured the Coupe de la Ligue.
