Oscar Jegou Suspended for Four Weeks Following Six Nations Eye Contact Incident

French rugby player Oscar Jegou has been suspended for four weeks after a disciplinary committee ruled he made reckless contact with Scottish player Ewan Ashman's eyes during the recent Six Nations match between France and Scotland. This incident, which initially escaped the match officials' attention, was reviewed post-match leading to Jegou's suspension. As a result, Jegou will miss France's crucial final Six Nations match against England on March 14 at Stade de France, as well as three upcoming club fixtures with Stade Rochelais, including matches against Pau on March 21, Bayonne on March 28, and the Challenge Cup quarter-final away game in Newcastle on April 4.

French national team coach Fabien Galthié now faces the challenge of reshaping his lineup. Lenni Nouchi, who already featured in the tournament but received a yellow card against Scotland, is expected to replace Jegou. Additionally, Charles Ollivon might fill the third-row role, with Emmanuel Meafou potentially joining Thibaud Flament in the second row, as Galthié prepares his final selections.
