Over the past weekend, the northern suburb of Lyon, Rillieux-la-Pape, was struck by two coordinated arson attacks targeting residential buildings. The first fire erupted in the technical ducts of an entrance hall, followed by a second blaze just ten minutes later involving burning garbage and pallets placed inside another entrance hall roughly 300 meters away. Mayor Alexandre Vincendet condemned the incidents, describing them as "two criminal fires" and emphasizing the swift action of video surveillance operators who alerted firefighters at 2 a.m., preventing any casualties.
