S3ns Achieves First French Hybrid Cloud SecNumCloud Certification, Boosting Data Sovereignty

On December 19, 2025, S3ns, a Thales subsidiary partnered with Google Cloud since 2021, announced it has obtained the "SecNumCloud" qualification from the French cybersecurity agency Anssi for its hybrid cloud offering, Premi3ns. This marks the first time a French cloud provider has gained this certification for a hybrid cloud solution that leverages American technologies, underscoring France's commitment to enhancing digital data sovereignty by protecting data from extraterritorial laws.

The Premi3ns solution is fully operated and managed by S3ns personnel within French data centers, ensuring compliance with stringent national security standards. Though available for several months, Premi3ns has rapidly been adopted by around thirty clients, which include reputable organizations such as Mgen, Matmut, AGPM, Qonto, and Club Med. In a notable strategic move, EDF has also selected S3ns to handle the storage, processing, and valorization of its critical data assets.

The SecNumCloud certification from Anssi serves as a benchmark for trusted cloud services that guarantee data confidentiality and residency, which are vital for French institutions and businesses wary of foreign jurisdictional reach. S3ns's latest achievement demonstrates progress in the French tech ecosystem's efforts to provide secure, sovereign cloud solutions domestically.

This advancement comes amid broader economic discussions within the European Union, but distinctly highlights France's focus on digital protection and sovereignty through certified, responsible partnerships in the technology sector.
