Senator Stéphane Le Rudulier Accused of Violence by Former Rognac Mayor

Stéphane Le Rudulier, senator for Les Républicains, faces allegations of deliberate violence brought forward by Sylvie Miceli-Houdais, the former mayor of Rognac. According to Le Monde, Miceli-Houdais claims that on June 19, 2024, Le Rudulier violently assaulted her, including strangulation and repeated blows. The incident is supported by a handwritten testimony, corroborated by municipal administration staff, and photographic evidence of her injuries.

Miceli-Houdais initially misdated the episode to July 31, 2024, but later corrected this detail. She filed an official complaint for voluntary violence on March 3, 2026, through her lawyer, Me Alain Lhote, submitting it to the public prosecutor’s office in Aix-en-Provence. Le Rudulier denies the accusations, describing them as politically motivated retaliation following Miceli-Houdais's defeat in a partial municipal election in November 2024.
