Sophie Adenot to Become First French Woman to Conduct Spacewalk on August 18

French astronaut Sophie Adenot is set to make history on August 18 by becoming the first French woman to perform a spacewalk. Alongside her NASA colleague Anil Menon, Adenot will embark on an operation lasting more than six hours outside the International Space Station (ISS). The mission's primary objective is to dismantle an old antenna from the ISS and install a replacement, a critical maintenance task for the station's ongoing functionality.

Sophie Adenot has been part of the mission since February and this spacewalk represents a major milestone not only for her career but also for France's presence in space exploration.
