Three teachers from nursery schools in Paris have been suspended following serious allegations of sexual violence against children, according to the Paris rectorate on November 7, 2025. The suspensions involve preschools located in Paris’s 10th, 19th, and 20th arrondissements. At the Aqueduc school in the 10th arrondissement, a parent’s report on October 14 led to the immediate suspension of a teacher and a notification to the public prosecutor. A parents' meeting was held on October 16, and a psychological support unit has since been set up.

In the 20th arrondissement, a teacher at Grands-Champs school was suspended on September 30 following a parent's complaint. This case is complicated by the teacher allegedly allowing her partner to enter the school premises, who is accused of sexually assaulting a child, prompting an administrative investigation to understand how an outsider gained access. Additionally, at the Fessart school in the 19th arrondissement, a report received on October 24 led to the suspension of another teacher after the school holidays, with a parent meeting convened and the case referred to the prosecutor.

Julie Benetti, rector of Paris, underscored her strong commitment to preventing and addressing violence against children. She announced priority training for emotional and relational education (Evar) to be deployed in affected schools. Furthermore, specific training for school directors on the physical and emotional safety of children will be implemented this year. Minister of National Education Édouard Geffray emphasized the urgent need to protect children and maintain heightened vigilance within educational institutions.

According to Le Parisien, two earlier complaints had been filed since the start of the school year without identifying perpetrators, highlighting longstanding concerns. These recent suspensions and ongoing investigations mark a critical moment for child protection measures in Parisian nurseries.
