2026 Coupe de France Kicks Off with First Round Matches and Final Preparations

The 2026 Coupe de France football tournament officially began with a series of first-round matches and final friendly preparations by participating teams.

US Grignon, preparing for their first official match against Ugine on August 23, played a crucial final friendly match against Albertville Foot 73 on August 18. This warm-up followed their recent loss to UO Albertville and served as the last opportunity for coach Monham Hamda's squad to fine-tune their tactics before the competitive season.

Meanwhile, several first-round matches across various divisions showcased intense competition. Vézelise secured a commanding 5-2 victory over Velaine-en-Haye in a Division 2 match. Goals were spread between Pereaux, who scored an opening penalty, Barbier with two goals including the final one, and Noël and Abraham adding crucial strikes. Other notable results included Padoux’s 2-0 win over Bru/Jeanménil, Hadol’s dominant 4-0 victory against Charmois-l’Orgueilleux, and Elite Epinal beating Dompaire 4-0. However, Ramonchamp overwhelmed Vallée de la Moselle in a staggering 20-0 victory. Saint-Amé/Julienrupt progressed on penalties after a goalless draw with Remiremont/Saint-Etienne, winning 7-6 in the shootout.
