Key details
beIN Sports has officially announced the recovery of its NBA broadcasting rights in France for the 2025-2026 season, marking its return to airing NBA content after an interval dominated by Amazon Prime Video's coverage. The channel plans to broadcast three NBA games initially, including a notable matchup featuring French star Victor Wembanyama's San Antonio Spurs against the Dallas Mavericks.
This announcement comes shortly after the NBA season opener on Amazon Prime Video. beIN Sports, which had been the exclusive American basketball broadcaster in France since 2012, had been in advanced negotiations for a new three- to four-year contract with the NBA.
According to Florent Houzot, the director of antennas at beIN Sports, there is strong enthusiasm for the NBA’s return to the channel. NBA and French basketball fans can watch a broad selection of games: alongside beIN Sports’ broadcasts, Amazon Prime Video will air 86 regular season games, including 29 prime time matches, half of the playoff games, a conference final each year, and the NBA Finals. Additionally, the NBA League Pass remains available for fans seeking extensive coverage.
New York Knicks player Guerschon Yabusele also expressed excitement over the broadcasting developments in a video shared with journalist Remi Reverchon, underlining the importance of accessible NBA coverage for French audiences.
This dual broadcast arrangement creates more viewing options for fans in France eager to follow their favorite NBA teams and players throughout the 2025-2026 season.
