Bourgogne–Franche-Comté Unveils €153.3 Million Investment Plan for 2026 Economic Growth and Ecological Transition

On February 6, 2026, the Bourgogne–Franche-Comté regional council approved a comprehensive €153.3 million investment plan aimed at stimulating economic development, ecological transition, and enhancing regional attractiveness across urban and rural areas.

The plan dedicates nearly €16 million specifically to supporting businesses and employment. Direct financial aid of €1.51 million, through repayable advances and grants, was granted to 21 companies, including notable beneficiaries such as ERTOP, which received €50,000 for development, and PARQUETERIE DE BOURGOGNE, awarded €15,000 for decarbonization investments.

For very small enterprises, 41 projects secured €1.08 million in funds, resulting in the creation or preservation of 118 jobs. Rural revitalization efforts include €424,500 allocated to 11 rural communes and €500,000 dedicated to enhancing Chablis’s historical site.

Education received significant attention with over €54.5 million allocated to modernize high schools and improve security measures. Environmental initiatives feature €2.7 million for the energy renovation of public buildings and social housing, supplemented by investments in river restoration and renewable energy projects.

Cultural heritage and the arts are supported with more than €7.1 million invested in various artistic projects and restoration efforts. This robust budget underscores the region's commitment to fostering economic resilience, supporting sustainable practices, and enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents.
