As Pope Léon XIV prepares for his official visit to France from September 25 to 28, 2026, authorities are deploying robust security preparations to manage the unprecedented scale of the event. According to Laurent Nuñez, the French Minister of the Interior, around 600,000 attendees are expected for the mass on the Champs-Élysées, requiring a "large police presence" and comprehensive safety protocols.

Nuñez confirmed that no specific threats have been detected but emphasized the necessity of heightened vigilance. Security measures include strict access controls, attendee pre-registration, searches, and a protective perimeter surrounding the Pope's mobile, complemented by strategically positioned sharpshooters.
