Key details
France 3 has announced that its iconic sports program 'Tout le Sport', which has aired for over 30 years, will conclude at the end of this year due to declining viewership, with recent audiences around 800,000. The long-standing show, launched in 1993 and formerly hosted by notable figures like Henri Sannier, will be replaced by 'Stade 2 La Quotidienne,' a daily sports program starting January 5, 2026, airing Monday to Saturday at 8 PM.
The newly branded show aims to provide a broader editorial scope beyond just sports results, incorporating human stories, societal issues, innovation, culture, inclusion, and environmental topics. Maintaining audience engagement remains a priority for France Télévisions as they capitalize on the stronger brand identity of 'Stade 2,' which celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.
Fabien Lévêque is confirmed to continue as the primary host Monday to Thursday, with Marie Mamère or Claire Vocquier-Ficot hosting Fridays and Saturdays. A new set design inspired by the original 'Stade 2' will accompany the revamped program. Furthermore, 'Le Mag Ligue 1' will follow the show on weekdays.
The decision reflects an effort to establish 'Stade 2' as the daily reference for sports coverage amid shifts in audience preferences and increased social media integration. Yet, the change has sparked discontent from some, including former host Henri Sannier, who expressed being "outraged and disgusted" by the disappearance of 'Tout le Sport.'
