France Votes in Favor of US-Led UN Resolution to Address Gaza's Humanitarian Crisis and Promote Peace

France has officially voted in support of the United States-led resolution at the United Nations Security Council aimed at addressing urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza. This decisive action reflects France's commitment to immediate humanitarian relief and a broader political solution to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The resolution, recognized as 2803, outlines several critical objectives, including ensuring unrestricted humanitarian access throughout Gaza, deploying a temporary UN-authorized international stabilization force, facilitating early recovery and sustainable reconstruction efforts, and disarming armed groups, especially Hamas. It also addresses Israel's legitimate security concerns while recognizing the Palestinian people's aspirations for self-determination and statehood.

Jérôme Bonnafont, France's permanent representative to the UN, emphasized that France's "yes" vote is intended to respond effectively to the most urgent needs of the population caught in the conflict. He highlighted France’s support for the political momentum required to achieve a sustainable end to the war in Gaza, underlining France's commitment to both humanitarian and peace initiatives.
