French Social Housing Providers Launch Emergency Heat Adaptation Plan

In response to the extreme heatwaves this summer, the Union sociale pour l’habitat is spearheading an urgent adaptation plan for social housing. This initiative, highlighted at the HLM Congress taking place in Bordeaux from Tuesday to Thursday, seeks to swiftly upgrade housing to better withstand high temperatures.

The plan prioritizes the installation of equipment such as shutters and air circulators to mitigate the impact of heat on residents. To expedite the process, social housing providers aim to integrate these installations within ongoing thermal renovation projects, focusing especially on regions most affected by the heat.
