Jack Lang Summoned by French Foreign Ministry Over Epstein Links

Jack Lang, president of the Institut du monde arabe (IMA), has been officially summoned by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide clarifications regarding his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, the American financier and convicted sex offender. The announcement was made by Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, who stated the meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026.

This move follows a high-level meeting on February 5 between President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, who discussed the implications of the revelations about Lang's ties to Epstein. The government, responsible for appointing the IMA president through the Quai d'Orsay, emphasized that while it will not comment on the allegations' substance, it demands explanations concerning emails linking Lang to Epstein’s extensive file where Lang's name appears 673 times.

Currently in Marrakech, Morocco, Lang is expected to present his explanations directly at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The government anticipates resistance from Lang, who has yet to publicly address these associations amid growing media and public scrutiny.
