Jacques Leveugle Investigated for Decades-Long Global Pedocriminality Ring

Jacques Leveugle, a 79-year-old former educator, is the subject of a sprawling international investigation into pedocriminality spanning over five decades and multiple continents. Authorities revealed that Leveugle has admitted in writings to having sexually assaulted dozens of adolescents since the 1960s. Official investigations, led notably by the Grenoble public prosecutor Etienne Manteaux, have identified at least 89 minor victims aged between 13 and 17 across nine countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Niger, Algeria, the Philippines, India, Colombia, and France.

Significantly, Leveugle was charged in 2024 with aggravated sexual assaults and rape of minors. The case gained momentum following the discovery of disturbing memoirs authored by Leveugle, which detailed some of his abusive acts. In addition to these charges, he is also suspected of murdering his mother and aunt, further adding to the complexity of the case.

Despite many incidents predating 1993 and possibly being statute-barred, the authorities are actively seeking additional victims by issuing a public call for witnesses as of February 10, 2026. So far, about 40 victims have been identified. Prosecutors describe Leveugle's modus operandi as "very singular," highlighting the calculated nature of his crimes committed over decades.

The judicial dossier is considered extraordinary, not only for its scope but also due to the inclusion of a family-related double homicide. The investigation reflects the long-term and international dimensions of pedocriminality cases, underlining challenges in tracking and prosecuting such offenses across borders and years.
