Knife Attack in Paris Injures Three Women, Suspect Arrested

On July 27, a knife attack unfolded in the northwestern area of Paris at Porte de Clichy, injuring three women. The assault took place around 11:30 AM when a man armed with two kitchen knives attacked the victims, aged 19, 24, and 36. Two of the women sustained serious injuries, with one wounded in the lower back and another in the abdomen, while the third suffered lighter injuries.

Emergency services promptly attended to the victims, who were transported to the hospital. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez confirmed that none of the women are in immediate danger despite the critical condition of two victims.

The suspect was swiftly apprehended by an off-duty police officer whose quick action was praised by Nuñez as courageous. The suspect has only provided a declared identity and reportedly made incoherent statements, leaving his motives unclear. Given the nature of the attack, the national antiterrorism prosecutor is closely monitoring the situation.

Following a Council of Ministers meeting, Minister Nuñez briefly addressed the knife attack while primarily focusing on ongoing wildfires affecting France, underscoring the government's heightened vigilance regarding public safety in multiple areas.
