Lorient SMEs Embrace Ecological Transition with Sobriety Workshops

In Lorient, an initiative led by Aloen, the Brittany region, and local economic partners is helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) align economic development with environmental sustainability. Bruno Paris, vice-president of Lorient Agglomération and president of Aloen, underscores the importance of ecological transition for local territories. Ten business leaders from small and medium-sized enterprises have enrolled in sobriety workshops, aiming to integrate responsible practices that benefit both the economy and the environment.

Marie-Laure Lamy, director of Aloen, highlights how the program successfully reconciles ecological concerns with economic growth, promoting sobriety as a key lever for sustainable development. Participants are addressing pressing environmental issues such as water management, mobility, and climate risks. Fabrice Jétain from Ar Nevez points to progress in responsible procurement and recruitment among the participating companies.

Peter Nass from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry notes that these workshops provide concrete solutions to ecological challenges. Two companies are scheduled to share their experiences in the upcoming workshop on November 27. This initiative reflects a growing awareness among local SMEs regarding environmental risks and signals a proactive approach to reconciling economic vitality with sustainability in the Lorient region.
