Olivier Minne is set to take over as the host of the iconic game show 'Le Maillon Faible' on M6, stepping in to succeed Vincent Dedienne starting this fall. After more than 20 years at France 2, where he was best known for hosting 'Fort Boyard', Minne's move comes as part of M6's strategy to enhance its family entertainment offerings. The new weekly format of 'Le Maillon Faible' will feature 52-minute episodes in prime time, designed to attract a wider audience after the show's successful revival, which garnered nearly 3 million viewers for its premiere on October 16, 2022.
In addition to 'Le Maillon Faible', Minne will also host two new programs: 'Pandore', a psychological strategy game inspired by Greek mythology, and a quiz show titled 'Quel est l’âge de votre cerveau?', which will engage 200 contestants in cognitive challenges. David Larramendy, president of M6, emphasized the importance of Minne's role in revitalizing the channel's programming, stating, "We want to further develop family entertainment; we have convinced Olivier Minne, a very unifying host, to join us."
Elodie Gossuin, a close friend and former colleague, expressed support for Minne, indicating her hope to co-host a program with him in the future. M6 is also expanding its lineup by bringing in other notable personalities, including Cyril Hanouna and Anne-Sophie Lapix, aiming to strengthen its game show segment to appeal to a diverse audience.
