As France approaches its Fête nationale celebrations, the prefect of Alpes-Maritimes has imposed important temporary restrictions to ensure public safety from July 12 to July 15, 2025. These measures include a ban on the distribution, sale, and purchase of combustible materials, such as fuels and corrosive substances, unless specifically justified and verified by local authorities.
Furthermore, there is a prohibition on the sale and use of various categories of pyrotechnic devices (F2, F3, F4, T2, and P2) during this period, although exceptions have been made for authorized public displays. Notably, alcohol sales for take-away consumption will be prohibited in all municipalities from July 12 at 6 PM until July 14 at 7 AM, and consumption will be restricted in designated public areas during specified times.
In addition to these measures, strict regulations are in place for minors, prohibiting unaccompanied individuals under the age of 13 from moving about in certain areas during nighttime hours from July 12 to July 14. These restrictions particularly target high-traffic areas in notable locations such as Nice, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, and Antibes, where detailed lists have been distributed to aid enforcement efforts.
