Tenor Carlos Natale to Lead Festive New Year's Concert at Atria in Nîmes

Nîmes is set to ring in the New Year with a vibrant concert featuring tenor Carlos Natale at the Atria venue on January 1 at 16:00. This event, marking its second edition, promises a lively atmosphere blending lyrical and festive music to celebrate the season.

The concert, developed through collaboration with Carole Roth-Dauphin and Richard Herry—key figures behind the Les Volques festival—aims to emulate the joyous New Year's music traditions found in other cities. Natale will be joined by mezzo-soprano Salomé Braccini, and musical soloists from Les Volques, under the artistic direction of conductor Nicola Simoni.

Audiences can expect a rich program featuring works by renowned composers such as Gounod, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Lehar, Offenbach, and the Strauss family, with special attention given to waltz rhythms stirring the festive mood. The €40 ticket includes entry and a celebratory glass of champagne, with reduced pricing at €20 for students and job seekers.

Looking ahead, Natale will commence rehearsals for "Lucia di Lammermoor" on January 4, 2024, and perform "Turandot" at the Opéra d'Avignon. He will also continue the apéro-opéra series—interactive events designed to foster engagement between audience and artists—with upcoming editions centered on literary figures like Frédéric Mistral, Victor Hugo, and Goethe.
