Three Teenagers Charged in Criminal Arson Near Lyon Resulting in Three Deaths

On May 11, 2026, a tragic fire broke out in a seven-story residential building in Décines-Charpieu, near Lyon, leading to the deaths of three people. The victims included a 28-year-old man and his 61-year-old aunt, who were found dead in their top-floor apartment, and another 28-year-old man who died after jumping from a window to escape the flames.

Following intensive investigations, three teenagers aged 16, 17, and 18 have been charged in connection with the arson.
